A kool Canadian Rock n Roll based animated film produced by Leonard Mogel, publisher of Heavy Metal mag. Film is anthology of sci-fi/fantasy stories adapted from the mag. w/ some originals. I remember xactly where/when I 1st. seen this -at "Midnight Movies" wasted on "creeper" ..lol! "Heavy Metal 2000" was a sequel to this flick. SOUNDTRACK: 01. Unusual @ the time, an LP of Bernstein's score was released with soundtrack, 1981, & featured the composer's 1st. use of the ondes martenot instrument which became a trademark of Bernstein. In 2008, Film Score Monthly released official, expanded CD of Bernstein's score he conducted. Score performed by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with the "London Voices" & Jeanne Loriod on the ondes Martenot. Legal snags surrounding the movie's use of some of the songs delayed it's VHS release. TRIVIA: Look for Star Trek's U.S.S. Enterprise & grafitti that says "Mariians are people too."
